The category list has changed a lot, so I hope this is in the right one. It is traditional art, even though I had to put it in the Paintings & Airbrushing category.
When inspiration is running thin & I can't think of what to paint or draw I usually end up with something space opera related. Or that is what happened here anyway. It's more of a practise with paint than anything else. I copied onto canvas from an original pencil sketch & didn't have a clue what the colours would be or how I wanted it to turn out. There are a number of things I know I would change, but comments are still appreciated - especially any tips on painting realism, as my paint skills still leave a lot to be desired for...  On to the subject.  I suppose I was influenced by the Brothers Grimm fairytale, though this Rapunzel looks as though she would give the witch who imprisoned her a bit of back chat. I'm also a big fan of Brom, and was influenced by his art XDI also have a new signature because I decided it was high time I started using my own name to sign artwork, so I just put my initials. I forgot to date it though, tsk!) Mumbo jumbo: acrylic paint on 30x40 canvas. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
